Large-Order Behavior of Two-coupling Constant φ-Theory with Cubic Anisotropy

چکیده
For the anisotropic [u( ∑N i=1 φ 2 i ) 2+v ∑N i=1 φ 4 i ]-theory with N = 2, 3 we calculate the imaginary parts of the renormalization-group functions in the form of a series expansion in v, i. e., around the isotropic case. Dimensional regularization is used to evaluate the fluctuation determinants for the isotropic instanton near the space dimension 4. The vertex functions in the presence of instantons are renormalized with the help of a nonperturbative procedure introduced for the simple gφ4-theory by McKane et al.

Critical Behavior of Vector Models with Cubic Symmetry
We report on some results concerning the effects of cubic anisotropy and quenched un-correlated impurities on multicomponent spin models. The analysis of the six-loop three-dimensional series provides an accurate description of the renormalization-group flow. 1 Cubic-symmetric models The magnetic interactions in crystalline solids with cubic symmetry like iron or nickel are usually modeled usin...
متن کاملSome Remarks on Tachyon Action in 2d String Theory
We discuss the effective action of tachyon in the two dimensional string theory at tree level. We show that already starting from the cubic terms the action is nonlocal and the usually assumed simplest cubic term does not give the correct amplitude. Four point 1PI terms are also discussed. Two dimensional string theory is a very simple string model, compared to the critical bosonic string and a...
متن کاملO(N)-Symmetric and Cubic Interactions
The beta function of the vacuum energy density is analytically computed at the five-loop level in O(N)-symmetric φ theory, using dimensional regularization in conjunction with the MS scheme. The result for the case of a cubic anisotropy is also given. It is pointed out how to also obtain the beta function of the coupling and the gamma function of the mass from vacuum graphs. This method may be ...
متن کاملBasic Resummation Theory
The power series in the coupling constant g or in ε derived so far are unsuitable for numeric calculations since they are divergent for any coupling strength. They are called asymptotic series. Resummation procedures are necessary to extract physical results. The crudest method to approximate a divergent function f (g) whose first L expansion coefficients are known employs Padé approximants [1]...
متن کامل6 Diagrams for Multicomponent Fields 6.1 Interactions with O(n ) and Cubic Symmetry
So far, we have considered only a single real field φ with a φ 4-interaction. The theory can, however, easily be extended to a set of N identical real fields φ α with α = 1,. .. , N. This extension does not produce any new Feynman diagrams. Additional work arises from the fact that the coupling constant g becomes now a tensor g αβγδ , and each momentum integral in a Feynman diagram is accompani...
